The beauty of the art concept of the Final Judgment
The concept of Humanism emerged believing in the inherent value abilities and creativity of humans reflected in realistic art. This era saw a revival of ancient Greek and Roman wisdom art and science while simultaneously valuing the worth of humanity. It emphasized linear perspective and vividly expressed human emotions. A key period in European history from the 14th to the 16th centuries saw advances in science astronomy and printing facilitating the dissemination of knowledge. Artists painted and sculpted with a focus on realistic and lifelike anatomical proportions conveying emotions and feelings.
The Last Judgment Icon or the Deisis series is an enlarged version of the Byzantine art depicting the judgment in ancient Christian religious belief.
Images of the Judgment surrounded by angels and saints in heaven filled with flowers depictions of the saved and angels joyfully embracing the saints. Another prominent and famous work is the fresco The Last Judgment a masterpiece by the Italian artist Fra Angelico created around 1431–1425. This particular depiction shows the layered hell of punishment for various sins with Jesus Christ seated on his throne. To the right of the image Jesus Christ is seated on his throne judging sinners of various kinds surrounded by angels and celestial saints.

This depiction of earthly life blends the beauty of nature with the belief that humans possess the ability intelligence and reason to determine their own destiny. Philosophical and educational concepts that uphold these values transitioning from the religion centered worldview of the Renaissance have become a symbol reflecting that all actions in life have consequences and that ultimate divine justice will prevail. This is based on the original concept of the purification of the world with molten metal and the judgment of souls at the end of the world determining the good and evil of all humanity before they embark on eternal life in heaven.
