Nefertiti is one of the most famous queens of ancient Egypt in world history. Her name means "beautiful visitor" She was the principal wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten of the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom and one of the most influential women of the Amarna period making her bust a world-renowned artifact. 6 December 6 1912 during a major archaeological excavation at the site German archaeologists led by Ludwig Borshard discovered the bust in Pharaoh Thutmose's study.
